Anita Ekberg

Anita Ekberg was a Swedish actress who starred in various European as well as American films. Most famously, she is known for her part in the comedy drama film 'La Dolce Vita'. In 1960, the film was given with the Golden Palm and an Oscar by the Cannes Film Festival. The film also achieved commercial and critical success. Born in Skane, Sweden, she worked as a fashion model prior to her acting career. She won in the Miss Sweden competition. In the US the actress began to appear in films with small roles. Her first credited role was in the movie 'Abbott and Costello Go to Mars", in which she was in the role of a Venusian guard. Her role was soon recognized with the Golden Globe award in the 'Most Promising Newcomer', category for her role in the film 'Blood Alley'. In the course of her career, she appeared in many other films such as the film 'War and Peace', which is an American-Italian war movie "War and Peace," The Western Film 'Valerie',"The Man Inside," the British adventure crime film, 'The man inside The Man Inside' and the French-Italian drama "The Dam of the Yellow River'.
